Slovakian is an Indo – European language, precisely of Slavic origin and is spoken by approximately 5 million persons in Slovakia and in the United States of America, Hungary and Serbia, Romania, Canada and Bulgaria.

Certain specialists compare the difference between the Czech and the Slovakian with that between Italian and Spanish. The standard Slovakian is closer to the literary Czech from the point of view of the phonology and of the morphology.
