Nowadays, limba engleză is all around us. Este cea mai importantă limbă de comunicare şi foarte multe cuvinte din vocabularul limbii engleze au pătruns şi în vocabularul uzual al limbii române dând naştere la ceea ce se cheamă ronglish- limba de comunicare în marile corporaţii şi nu numai. Auzim frecvent expresii de genul „am meeting la ora 2.”, „maine am deadline”, „target-ul a fost atins”.
Învăţarea unei limbi străine este în general un proces de durată iar rezultatul este influenţat de foarte mulţi factori, dintre care cei mai importanţi ar fi timpul alocat studiului şi folosirea limbii respective în mod constant. Dar acest proces de durată poate fi şi distractiv. Începem prin a acumula cunoştinte de bază despre folosirea şi formarea verbelor, a substantivelor şi a altor părţi de vorbire şi continuăm prin a învăţa expresii şi cuvinte, îmbogaţindu-ne vocabularul şi dezvoltându-ne abilităţile de comunicare. În limba engleză folosirea expresiilor este foarte comună. Din multitudinea de expresii din limba engleză unele dintre cele mai interesante şi amuzante sunt expresiile care au în componenţă nume de animale. Unele dintre aceste expresii îşi găsesc echivalent şi în limba română.
